Lee Cronin is an Irish director/writer who has specialized in the supernatural horror genre, first making short films over nine years from 2004 to 2013, and then beginning his feature filmmaking career as director/co-writer of the Irish-British-Belgian-Finnish supernatural horror movie, The Hole in the Ground (2019), starring Seana Kerslake, James Cosmo, Simone Kirby and Steve Wall, premiering at the Sundance Film Festival and earning $3.4 million globally.

Cronin was director/writer of his first U.S. production and the franchise’s fifth entry, Evil Dead Rise (2023), with Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher, launching at the South by Southwest Film Festival and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures for an outstanding $147 million global gross.

Cronin was director/writer/executive producer of his self-named Lee Cronin’s The Mummy (2026), created as a “reimagining” of the Mummy franchise, produced by James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville, starring Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcon, and which was released wide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Cronin took executive producer credits for the Sam Raimi-produced franchise sequels, Evil Dead Burn (2026), directed and co-written by Sebastien Vanicek, and director/writer Francis Galluppi’s Evil Dead Wrath (date to be announced).

Lee Cronin was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, by his father and his late mother Pauline. Cronin’s height is 5’ 8”.
