    Plot Summary

    • Two weeks before their high school graduation, long-time best friends Evan (Michael Cera) and Seth (Jonah Hill) are about to leave for different colleges. Seth and Evan have been together since they were 8 years old and the whole school believed that they would stay that way forever. Seth had a crush on Evan's mother Jane (Stacy Edwards). As a teen raging with hormones, Seth has a crush on everything with breasts. Seth did not get into Dartmouth, which is where Evan is going. Seth says that the last time he saw breasts was 2 years ago when he had a girlfriend. He is worried that he wants to be good at sex in college and doesn't want to pass out of high school as a virgin.Seth and Evan are confronted by school bullies, one of whom named Jesse spits on Seth and says that he and Evan are not invited to a graduation party he is throwing at his house the following week.Seth's love interest, Jules, invites him to a party at her house after their share a home economics class together where they bake a Tiramisu. Their mutual friend, Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), has plans to acquire a fake ID, so Seth agrees to buy alcohol for a party that his crush, Jules (Emma Stone), is hosting. Evan also offers to buy Goldslick vodka for his long-time crush Becca (Martha MacIsaac). There is some tension between Seth and Evan because Evan and Fogell will both be going to Dartmouth while Seth will be going to a state college. Fogell is a complete nerd and a bit desperate, and Seth doesn't like him very much. While purchasing the alcohol Fogell is assaulted by a hooded robber, and the police soon arrive. The two officers, Michaels (Seth Rogen) and Slater (Bill Hader), appear to be fooled by Fogell's fake ID (which has the single name "McLovin" as his identity) and offer Fogell a lift to the party. On the way, however, they make numerous stops and display many instances of inappropriate use of police powers, including stealing beers, drinking on the job, unnecessary use of police lights, and improper use of their firearms for shooting at a stop sign. While the police officers are talking to Fogell at the liquor store, Evan and Seth make the assumption that Fogell has been arrested. Seth is suddenly hit by a car but seems uninjured. To avoid being reported, the driver, Francis (Joe Lo Truglio), agrees to take them to another party, where they reason they can steal the alcohol they need. At the party, Seth fills laundry detergent bottles from the basement with alcohol and dances with a drunk girl named Jacinda. She stains his leg with menstrual blood, while a group of intoxicated men make Evan sing "These Eyes" for them. However, Francis is not welcome at the party and is subsequently assaulted by the host, Mark (Kevin Corrigan), host for dancing with his fiance. Seth and Evan are forced to leave, but not before smuggling out beer in laundry detergent bottles. The police are called.Once at a safe distance, the two stop to catch their breath and Seth accuses Evan of bailing on him. Evan defends himself saying that the whole thing was Seth's idea. Seth retorts saying that not only did Evan bail on him at the party but also at earlier that morning when a bully spat on Seth and will again be bailing on him when he goes to Dartmouth that Fall. Evan then angrily confesses that he feels Seth has been holding him back for the last three years and that while he could have been out making friends and chasing girls, he sat around talking "bulls**t." The two then get into a shoving match. During the fight, Seth is again hit by a car, this time the police cruiser occupied by Slater, Michaels, and Fogell. Officer Slater prepares to arrest the teens, but Evan runs off and the two officers chase him while the reunited Seth and Fogell make off with the rest of the alcohol. Eventually, all three make their way to Jules' party. At the party, Fogell inadvertently reveals that he and Evan will be rooming together at college, upsetting Seth. Seth's stories of the night's antics make him popular, while Becca wants to have sex with Evan, who declines as she is drunk, and he does not want her to regret it. Meanwhile, Fogell impresses foreign exchange student Nicola and goes upstairs to have sex with her. Seth drunkenly attempts to kiss Jules, but she turns him down because she neither drinks nor wants Seth while he is drunk. After believing he has ruined his chances with Jules, Seth falls down, accidentally headbutting her and giving her a black eye.Slater and Michaels bust the party. Seth wakes up and escapes, carrying an intoxicated Evan. Slater busts in on Fogell and Nicola starting to have sex, causing her to run off. Slater yells at Fogell for ditching them, but Michaels points out they just "cockblocked" him. They apologize and reveal they knew all along that Fogell was underage but played along, wanting to show him that cops can have fun too. To make it up to him, they handcuff him and make a spectacle of perpetrator-walking him to their cruiser, making him look "badass". They resume their bonding, eventually destroying the cruiser with a Molotov cocktail, while Fogell shoots it with Slater's service pistol.Seth and Evan have a sleepover at Evan's, where Seth reveals that he discovered weeks earlier that Evan and Fogell planned to live together at college. Evan admits he does not want to share a room with Fogell but is afraid to live with strangers. They apologize to each other and reconcile. The next day, Seth and Evan visit the mall and run into Jules and Becca. Becca and Seth apologize for their drunken behavior, and the boys pair off with the girls: Seth takes Jules to buy concealer for the black eye he gave her, while Evan and Becca leave to buy a comforter to replace the one she drunkenly vomited on.

    Storyline

    • Seth and Evan are best friends, inseparable, navigating the last weeks of high school. Usually shunned by the popular kids, Seth and Evan luck into an invitation to a party, and spend a long day, with the help of their nerdy friend Fogell, trying to score enough alcohol to lubricate the party and inebriate two girls, Jules and Becca, so they can kick-start their sex lives and go off to college with a summer full of experience and new skills. Their quest is complicated by Fogell's falling in with two inept cops who both slow and assist the plan. If they do get the liquor to the party, what then? Is sex the only rite of passage at hand? — Seth, Evan and Fogell are three teenage guys who love to drink and desperately wish to get laid. When a girl that Seth really likes, asks him to get the drink for her party, he sees this as a perfect opportunity to make her his girlfriend. The trio plan out how to get the alcohol, even including Fogell's new fake ID, but things won't got smoothly for the trio. Seth and Evan become separated from Fogell (now called McLovin) and they still haven't got the alcohol for the party that night. — FilmFanUK High school seniors Evan and Seth have been best friends since they were kids, Seth the leader who is all talk and no action, Evan on the most part the faithful follower. They are part of the "out" crowd, meaning that they have few other friends and especially few in the "in" crowd. They have done everything together by themselves but their plan to be roommates at college falls apart when Seth is not accepted to their school of choice, Dartmouth. Evan decides still to attend Dartmouth and room instead with their mutual friend, the boyishly nerdish Fogell, which Evan decides not to tell Seth about if only in not wanting to make Seth feel like he is being abandoned for another known quantity. Their initial plans to hang out together by themselves for graduation takes a turn when two weeks before graduation, the pretty Jules invites Seth, and by association Evan, to her house party that evening. Knowing that Fogell is getting a fake ID made, Seth, with Jules' money, offers to purchase all the alcohol for the party. Seth believes that the alcohol is his and Evan's ticket to losing their respective virginities that evening at the party, Seth with Jules, and Evan with Becca, who he knows likes him, but whose advances he has been unable to act upon out of shyness and insecurity. But the road to purchasing the alcohol and being the kings of Jules' party takes a less than smooth path, based largely on Fogell's cluelessness about his new ID, the actions of a couple of adolescently-minded police officers, and Seth and Evan's own attitudes of what they need to do to be popular, if only for this one day. Through the process, Seth and Evan may come to a clearer picture of what their friendship truly means, and where they fit in life. — Huggo Hilarious comedy about two high school seniors who have been best friends since they were young and are preparing to finally graduate. They aren't exactly "popular", however, that won't stop them from doing whatever they can to finally lose their virginity before college to the prettiest and coolest girls in school. When one of the girls asks them to get alcohol for the party they set out on an adventure to get it and bring it to the graduation house party. Unfortunately, the trip turns out to be a lot more difficult then they had originally planned. Will they make it to the party with the alcohol in time? Or will they miss the final chance to lose their virginities to the girls of their dreams and lose each other in the process? — Erica Adina Amaral 1 more All
