Tyler was born in Santa Monica, California, and lives in the Los Angeles with his musician/singer song writer wife, phem. He is the son of Cyndi Garcia (1959-2014) and actor/writer John Posey. He is of Mexican (mother) and British Isles (father) descent. Tyler developed an early interest in the arts, and began his professional acting career at the age of six. Along with acting, he is also a writer, editor, DP, camera operator, host, producer and director. He had his professional directorial debut on the TV series Teen Wolf, a show he produced the last two seasons of. Tyler is also a musician/song writer and has had his music featured in films. He has two siblings, an older brother, Derek, and a younger brother, Jesse Posey, also an actor.
