Tim Robinson (birthname: Timothy Robinson) has been a member of the Saturday Night Live cast (2012-2013) as well as a writer for the show from 2013 to 2020, and has written and acted in numerous comedy and sketch comedy shows and short films (including his Netflix sketch comedy series, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson), and began his feature film career portraying Benjamin Franklin in the Lorne Michaels-produced comedy, Brother Nature (2016), with several SNL players including Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan and co-writer Mikey Day, and with Bill Pullman, Rita Wilson and Gillian Jacobs in the cast co-directed by Osmany Rodriguez and Matt Villines, and released by Paramount Pictures.

Robinson appeared in several features made for streaming and direct-to-video until he was cast as co-star in director/writer Andrew DeYoung’s debut comedy feature, Friendship (2025), co-starring Paul Dano, with Kate Mara and Jack Dylan Grazer, and premiering at the Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness section (scoring runner-up in the People’s Choice Awards) and released wide by A24.

Robinson was part of the voice cast of the sequel, The Angry Birds Movie 3 (2027), with the voice cast of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, and Danny McBride under John Rice’s direction, produced by Sega Sammy Group and distributed by Paramount Pictures.

Tim Robinson was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, by his mother (a Chrysler worker) and father (a construction worker). His parents divorced during his childhood, and then Robinson grew up with his mother and stepfather. Robinson graduated from Clarkson High School in 2000. Robinson is married to Heather Robinson; the couple has one daughter, Penny. Robinson’s height is 5’ 8½ ”. Robinson’s estimated net worth is $2 million.
