Peter Browngardt (birthname: Peter Florian Browngardt)  is an animation creator who has worked as a director, writer, producer, animator, and voice actor mainly in the television space, but has also worked in theatrical features, starting with his credits as producer and lead actor of the dark comedy-drama, The Last American (2003), directed and co-written by Audie Harrison (with co-writer A.J. Pfeifer).

Browngardt made his theatrical debut as director/co-writer with Warner Bros. Animation’s The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie (2024), which Browngardt adapted from Looney Tunes Cartoons series (2020-2024) Browngardt created, developed, and produced for HBO Max, and was the first animated feature comprised entirely of original Looney Tunes story material, with the voice cast of Eric Bauza, Candi Milo, Peter MacNicol, Laraine Newman, and Wayne Knight, and released wide by Ketchup Entertainment.

Browngardt was a writer, storyboard artist, animator and voice actor until 2023 with animated and live-action shows at Fox, Comedy Central, Adult Swim, Nickelodeon and HBO, including such notable shows as Futurama (2000), Chowder (2007-2010), The Ricky Gervais Show (2010-2012), Uncle Grandpa (2013-2017) and SpongeBob SquarePants (2017, 2019, 2023).

Peter Browngardt was born and raised in Sag Harbor, New York, by his parents. Browngardt has one brother, Tom. Browngardt studied animation at the California Institute of the Arts. Browngardt has been married to writer Kristina Baranovich since 2011. Browngardt’s height is 6’ 3½ ”.
