Matthew Nye was born and raised humbly in a one-bedroom apartment with his father and grandfather in Hollywood, Florida. He never focused much in school. Instead, he focused on his craft, writing performing and studying his trade, from spoken word poetry to stand up to staring into the mirror and making faces that terrified his family and friends
