    Lorna Nickson Brown was born in Stoke, England. She moved with her parents to Kathmandu, Nepal, later returning to Birmingham, UK, where she was raised by her mother.

    Lorna was offered a place at the University of Birmingham to study English and American Literature but decided to undertake a professional actor training and auditioned for Drama Centre London where she was offered one of five female places on the three year BA Acting course. In her final year, she won a Laurence Olivier Bursary Award, for her rendition of Evadne in 'The Maid's Tragedy' by Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher and Queen Margaret in 'Henry VI: Part III.'

    Her short film, Dog Run (2023), picked up 16 awards and nominations, including winning the Breaking Boundaries Grand Prize Award at the 41st Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2023. She also directed award-winning BFI Network short, Ned & Me (2020) in 2020. The film's festival selections include the 2021 International Competition at Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival.
