Gregory Nye was born in Harve de Grace Maryland. His father was an aircraft/aeronautical engineer who worked on government contracted projects in many states during the family's early years. They eventually settled in Brownsville Texas. He attended the University of Texas. He now resides part of the year in New Mexico.
