Fredy Yate was born in Pereira, Colombia as Fredy Andrés Yate Escobar. He began studying acting when he was 10 and moved to Spain at the age of 23 to attend a drama seminar given by The Royal School of Dramatic Arts of Madrid. He holds a degree in Drama Studies from The Teatro Libre of Bogotá and The Central University of Colombia. He is an actor best known for The 33 (2015), American Made (2017), Surviving Escobar (2017), Loving Pablo (2018) and Griselda (2022).
