    Colin Cairnes is approximately one half of the Cairnes Brothers writing/directing duo. Col and Cam's debut feature, 100 Bloody Acres (starring Damon Herriman and Angus Sampson) was released in 2013 to rave reviews with Matt Zoller-Seitz at rogerebert.com calling it "the best low budget horror-comedy since Shaun of the Dead". The film won the Midnight X-treme Award at the Sitges Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Sampson) at the 2013 AACTAs - Australia's Academy Awards.

    The brothers' second feature, Scare Campaign was released in 2016. This fresh and frightening take on the "slasher" collected four awards (including Best Film and Best Director) at Monsterfest, Australia's premier horror movie festival. in 2019 the Cairnes Brothers were EPs on Dark Place, a horror anthology film written and directed by an exciting group of young Indigenous filmmakers.

    In 2016 Colin directed the Australian Writers Guild award-winning comedy series, Fancy Boy, for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. In 2019 he won Best Director (Comedy Series) at the Australian Directors Guild Awards for his work on popular TV series True Story with Hamish & Andy.

    Colin has also produced and directed several highly successful Singaporean sitcoms, including the Asian TV Award winning shows, Phua Chu Kang PTE. LTD. and Under One Roof.
