Antonin Artaud was born on 4 September 1896 in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. He was an actor and writer, known for The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928), Lucrezia Borgia (1935) and Napoleon (1927). He died on 4 March 1948 in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, France.
