Ahmed Hassan

Ahmed Hassan is an Emmy award-winner for Best Cinematography for Non-fiction Programming. He has worked on documentaries, short films, commercials and television shows. The most notable documentary was 'The Square' (2014), in which he is one of the cinematographers and starred as one of the main characters, The film depicts the ongoing Egyptian Revolution of 2011 from it's roots in Tahrir Square. The film was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 86th Academy Awards. It also won 8 Emmy Awards at the 66th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. His work has been supported by Sundance, Tribeca, Netflix, Toronto, Berlin and the International Documentary Association. 2020 selected an International Documentary Competition Jury member at motion pictures international film festival (MOPIFF). In 2022 he was featured in and co-produced the "Subject" documentary; the film was nominated in the Documentary Competition World Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival.
