Aaron Pierre (birthname: Aaron Stone Pierre) is a potent British actor whose acclaimed stage performances (particularly as Cassio in the Shakespeare Globe’s 2018 production of Othello) drew the attention of filmmakers such as director/writers Barry Jenkins and M. Night Shyamalan, who cast Pierre in the horror movie, Old (2021), starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Alex Wolff, Thomasin McKenzie, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung and Embeth Davidtz, grossing over $90 million worldwide via distributor Universal Pictures.
Pierre landed his first starring big-screen role in Canadian director/writer/producer Clement Virgo’s drama based on David Chariandy’s novel, Brother (2022), with Lamar Johnson, Marsha Stephanie Blake, and Kiana Madeira, and premiering at the Toronto Film Festival. Aaron Pierre was born in the Braxton section of London, England, and was raised in the London communities of Braxton and Croydon by his parents. Pierre first studied acting and participated in stage productions with the Croydon Young People’s Theatre. Pierre majored in Performing Arts at Lewisham College, and then Pierre studied acting in both Toronto and at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, from which he graduated in 2016. Pierre’s height is 6’ 3”.
